An earthenware orange-bodied slipware Tobacco jar decorated with flower heads within a band and a profusion of stars in geometric loop patterns. The pot with the initials S S and the date August 31 st 1810 in slip decoration. Edward Rummings designed the unique looping pattern on the jar at the Brede Pottery. This piece is of exceptional rarity and probably presented as a gift. A similar pot ( dated 1812) located in the Stoke on Trent Museum also has a metal cover.

Current Condition: Fine condition with no restorations.

Provenance: Retains the label of the Solon Collection.
