Antique staffordshire pottery pearlware figure group in the form of a Watch holder. There are to male figures leaning against the pillars and the top of the piece is modelled with figures of two standing lions. Interestingly the figure group still retains a brass sun faced fitted clock which almost works complete with a bird shaped brass key. (The group is offered on the basis that the clock is as found).

Literature: Myrna Schkolne in her book People,passion,Pastimes and Pleasures Staffordshire figures 1810-35 illustrates a similay figure on page 176. A similar figure can also be viewed at the Fitzwilliam Musem Cambridge England.
