This large and tall pottery creamware bodied tankard is strikingly decorated with a faux tortoiseshell ground and features a relief molded portrait of Admiral Rodney. The portrait of Rodney is set within a green sprigged garlanded cartouche with the inscription "Admiral Rodney." A rare historical piece commemorating Rodneys's victory over the French at Saintes in 1782.

Current Condition: Minor chip at the rim and ancient faint and stable hairline at the body.
