A fine and rare saltglaze stoneware pottery diamond shaped teapot of diminutive size from the 1750 period and made in Staffordshire England. The pot is intricately decorated with relief moulded panels featuring a patera. The handle is formed as a serpent and the cover finial is a figure of Chinese stylized lion. The scale of the teapot illustrates the high cost of tea in the mid 18th century.

Current Condition: Minor restoration at rim teapot and tip of spout. ( professional restoration invisible).
