Antique Staffordshire pottery figure group of the RED BARN. This tablebase figure is the work of Obadiah Sherratt one of the most famous Staffordshire potters of the early 19th century in England. The murder at the Red Barn transfixed the nation in the 1830's with the murder of Mariah Martin by William Corder of Polestead in Essex England. The figures on the group show Corder inviting Mariah Martin into the barn for a chat which turned out to be her demise.
