John Liston was a prominent comedy actor in the early 19th century in England. His most famous roles were of Paul Pry and Lubin Log. This figure celebrates and commemorate the character of Lubin Log.the conceited cockney character he first played in James Kenney's play Love, Law and Physic at Covent Garden Theatre on 20 November 1812, and in many revivals). The base is impressed in black capitals "It's quite hospitable you know but here's sixpence for you it between you and the guard. The back of the base has the SALT mark of the maker. We have also in stock an associated figure of the character Paul Pry.
