This Staffordshire pottery pearlware glazed figure of a seated cat, its coat decorated with sponged ochre, is mounted on an oblong base. The pugnacious, characterful feline was made in the early 19th century.  

Dimensions: 4.25 inches high

Current Condition: Minor chip on the inner ear restored.

Provenance: A similar figure is located in the Saffron Walden Museum England
