This Staffordshire pottery bust of George Washington has a pearlware glaze and decorated over-glaze with enamels. The back of this rare piece is impressed with WASHINGTON, and the inside of the socle base likewise bears the name of the master potter Ra Wood Burslem. An almost identical bust is located in the Houston Museum of Fine Art, Texas ( https://emuseum.mfah.org/objects/108800/bust-of-george-washington). Other examples are held at major museums such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Victoria, and the Albert Museum in London.

Dimensions: 10 inches high

Current Condition: Tip of the nose professionally restored with only minor signs of wear commensurate with age.
