This finely potted and well-colored pottery half-bust shows a military officer thought to be Sir John Moore, who served with the British Army in the American Revolutionary War in 1761. Sir John Moore was also a prominent General in the Peninsula War in the Iberian region. He was killed in battle against Napoleon's army and defeated at Corunna, surviving long enough to have news of his victory.

Description

This finely potted and well-colored pottery half-bust shows a military officer thought to be Sir John Moore, who served with the British Army in the American Revolutionary War in 1761.
