A fine example of a Staffordshire pottery pearlware bull baiting group from the early 19th century period. This figure is well modelled and decorated in good enamels. Bull baiting was a barbaric rural sport but surpringly the related figures produced by the Staffordshire potters are among the best produced by them. They encapsulate many of the iconic features of pottery from the early 19th century and provide a glimpse into the past of rural England.

Dimensions: 9 inches high, 11 inches wide, 5.5 inches long

Current Condition: Some restored horns,hands/stick/hat,rope and minor enamels re-touched
