Staffordshire pottery creamware dish with oxide glazes in the Whieldon manner 18th century

A good Whieldon type relief molded creamware bodied dish with green, olive, and brown color oxide colors, the reverse with a tortoiseshell brown with traces of pale green. The dish has scroll edge diaper work panels on a basket work ground which radiates from a central domino and star diaper circular panel. There are eight panels of pierced diaper work around the rim divided by a herringbone and basket work ground The dish is a fine example with a high-quality glaze. The shape and relief decoration are more commonly found on plain saltglaze pieces.
