Staffordshire Pottery bocage figure group of Shepherd and Sheperdess impressed Tittensor circa 1800

This is a fine and one of the best examples from the Charles Tittensnor Pottery Staffordshire of a hoop bocage figure titled SHEPHERD and SHEPERDESS. The figures stand on a meringue-shaped feature with large flowers and are shown with sheep, lambs, and a dog. The underglaze color decoration and glaze applied to this figure are exceptional. The reverse of the figure is impressed three times TITTENSOR.  

Dimensions: 9.25 inches high

Current Condition: Restored by Conservators of Ceramics to the British Royal Family, at leaf tips, one flower and the hand of the shepherd.
