This is a small, delightfully characterful  Staffordshire porcelain figure of the Laughing Philosopher circa 1835. The rotund figure is dressed in a green jacket and pink pants, trimmed in best gold, and stands on a circular base. The enamels and quilty modeling are similar to the work of John and Rebecca Lloyd and the early output from the Dudson Pottery.

Dimensions: 4 inches high

Current Condition: Small minor nibble at base otherwise in very fine condition.
