One of the rarest forms of Pastille Burner produced in Staffordshire and made at the Coalport Works. The profusion of decoration and detailed modelling is a feature of this fantasy piece which also has a slide for the pastille cone. The pastille burner is finely decorated on all elevations, the design possibly inspired by the Nash designed Royal Lodge at Windsor Palace, a project initiated by King George IV. Such an elaborate model was produced for the luxury market. Note; Pastilles were similar to incense cones and were produced to be burned to release pleasant scents into the house.
