A very well modelled and appealing Staffordshire figure of a standing elephant by a stream. The pottery figure has good enamel colours , pearlware glaze and excellent modelling making this small figure a gem in ceramic from the early part of the 19th century. It is thought that these small animal figures were made as childrens toys and as one can imagine very few of these Staffordshire figures survived to give us enjoyment today.

Dimensions: 2.75 inches wide

Current Condition: Restored tusks.
