A rare early English slipware charger of considerable size and press-molded with a pie-crust rim. The combed and expertly executed brown slip over a buff earthenware body suggests a Staffordshire or North Midlands origin. The dish has been "museum restored" in a very sympathetic manner retaining the integrity of this beautiful piece.
