This silver luster pottery jug is decorated with underglaze blue and white transfer prints relating to rural sport. The two equestrians depicted are running with hounds, one of the pack leaping over a fence by an oak tree. The elaborate floral border has two cartouches depicting a stag and a dog. The jug is in excellent condition and is a rare example.
