This small-scale slipware comb-decorated baking dish with a pie crust rim is an anomalous survivor from the late 18th century. These diminutive dishes did not endure the rigors of the kitchen as well as their more expensive larger counterparts, who were saved by their obvious decorative appeal. (It has a bespoke acrylic hanger for wall display).

Diameter: 8 inches

Current Condition: Unrestored authentic condition in accord with age and use.

Provenance: Previously with Johnathan Horne (London) and then with a private collection in Kensington London.
