A rare pair of Staffordshire pottery saltglaze stoneware pug dogs from circa 1760. These naive pottery figures were produced at the beginning of the Staffordshire Potteries development to become the worlds major ceramic producer. The figures were probably produced as childrens toys hence their rarity.
