The rare and well-decorated tin-glazed manganese-colored tile depicts two recumbent sheep in a pasture and is attributed to the Bristol or Liverpool delftworks. The tile has significant provenance from the Louis Lipski Collection, who later gifted them to R.J.Charleston, the Keeper of Ceramics at the Victoria and Albert Museum London, England.
