Pottery pearlware sauce boat in the form of a dolphin. Good defined modelling and well executed striking enamels of lime green and maroon. The sauce boat is impressed WALKER. Godden in the Encylopedia of British Pottery and Porcelain marks notes that the mark relates to William Walker who was a retailer at 112 Minories London between 1795-1800. Godden also notes that a Pair of Dolphin sauceboats are in the Schrieber Collection housed in the Victoria and Albert Museum London bearing the same mark WALKER.
