A pair of Staffordshire pearlware glaze pottery figures of exotic looking hens. The birds are modeled sitting on yellow baskets with a blue flower in the centre. The figures are exceptionally well coloured in bright enamels with striking decorative appeal in the round. They are one of, if not the rarest form of hens on nest/basket produced in Staffordshire in the 19th century.
