A good antique Staffordshire pottery pearlware figure of a lion with bocage. This is a rare and appealing figure dating from the early 19th century. The back of the figure bears the Walton scroll mark.

Dimensions: 4.25 inches high

Current Condition: Minor good restoration at leaf and enamel.

Literature: Myrna Schkolne book; People, Passions, Pastimes and Pleasures. Staffordshire figures 1810-35. Chapter 10 is devoted to figures associated with Menageries.
