Antique Staffordshire pottery pearlware figure of Rural Pastimes with hoop shaped bocage circa 1820 period. This charming figure group is very well colored with enamels. The hoop shape bocage with its profusion of colored flowers is a very attractive feature giving this figure strong decorative appeal.

Dimensions: 10 inches high

Current Condition: Restored at bocage, tip of pipe and chip at mans hat, professional and invisible work.

Literature: Myrna Schkolne book, People,Passions,Pastimes and Pleasures. Staffordshire Figures 1810-1835. Page 234 and 235 illustrates similar types of figures. Myrna Schkolne also illustrates this figure in her recently published book Volume 1 Page 130 figures 26.88 and 26.89 Staffordshire Figures 1780-1840 (Manufacturers, Pastimes and Work). Another three volumes will be published by Schiffer later in 2014
