Antique pottery plate with pearlware glaze and cobalt blue edge border. Produced for the USA market in circa 1810 period. The USA emblems are hand decorated in Pratt type colors. EXHIBITION .....IF THESE POTS COULD TALK. The British potters had a large export market especially to the Eastern seaboard coast of America. The little pearlware glazed plate is firmly aimed at the United States market with the early amorial. There are 13 stars illustrated which helps to date the plate to circa 1815 denoting the number of States formed at that time. The plate is a reminder of the enterprise of the British potters who dominated world production of ceramics especially from Staffordshire England.
