Prattware pottery figure of a horse and rider English circa 1800

Dated: 1790 to 1810 Staffordshire or Yorkshire England

This exceptionally rare figure is decorated in the Prattware oxide underglaze color palette of green, brown, blue, and ochre and well modeled with excellent attention to detail. The white horse stands on an oval green base with an ochre band at the rim, the rider is seated on an ochre-colored saddle and dressed in hunting gear. The figure produced in Yorkshire or Staffordshire at the turn of the 18th century is one of the rarest animal figures produced in Prattware.

Current Condition: Minor restoration.
