This pottery pearlware glazed jug is decorated with underglaze transfer black and white prints. One shows Brittania weeping over a plinth and urn with the image of Horatio Nelson, Born Sept. 22nd, 1758...Died Oct. 21st, 1805. This is set within a garlanded cartouch with the words " Brittania weeping on the ashes of her matchless Horatio Lord Nelson," and on the reverse, a ship under sail probably representing HMS Victory. Under the spout is another print of a sailing ship with the motto " Success to the wooden walls of England." this is below the name B.Jinkins 1810 in script.
