The pottery money box bank made in the form of the Primitive Methodist Chapel, which was located in Bank Street Mexborough Yorkshire. The piece is named and dated ElizAbeth Kay 1850 and probably given as Christening or Birthday present. The Chapel modeled standing on ball feet and flanked by two cherubs, and there are two maroon entrance doors, six distinctive windows, and two impressive chimney stacks. The slit for depositing coins is on the back of the roof—one of the best examples produced by the Mexborough Pottery in the mid 19th century period.
