The pair of Prattware pottery military "Loyal Volunteers " figures are a rare small version made at the end of the 18th century in England. One figure represents a Foot Volunteer holding a musket, the other a Horse Volunteer with a cutlass. NOTE. Militias were formed following the Act of 1757 and contributed to the realm's military strength until the late 18th century period.
