Description
This model is probably the best ever produced in England in the early 19th century. The magnificent pair of spaniels are crisply modelled with curly tails and legs which are seperate. They sit on elaborate large oval bases which are decorated with fruit, vines, leaves and flowers which are supported on paw feet. This large and imposing pair are extremely rare, this is the third pair I have acquired in the past 20 years, all of which are of exceptional quality.
The scale, characterful heads, sublime saltglaze texture and deep honey colour make them a highly decorative pair.
The figures were made at the Briddon Pottery located in Brampton, Derbyshire, England.
