The maiolica pottery dish is a rare and excellent example of pottery from Montelupo Tuscany Italy made in the 17th century. The dish is vibrantly colored and decorated with a male hunter striding in a country setting with a rifle slung over his shoulder. NOTE; The growth and quality of Tuscan ceramics from Montelupo was stimulated by the rich and royal families of Florence. The pottery produced was so famous and popular that it was exported all over Europe.

Current Condition: Unrestored fine condition with only minor areas of historical wear.

Provenance: With the dealer Gary Atkins and then the Birkett Collection London.
