This massive and rare creamware-bodied dish is perhaps one of the largest pieces made in the Whieldon manner from Staffordshire in the mid-18th century. It is decorated with underglaze oxide colors, a manganese ground with splodges of green and ochre often termed " egg and spinach."

Current Condition: Unrestored with only minor signs of historical wear commensurate with age.

Provenance: Gentleman in the English Home Counties.
