Antique English pottery figure of a cow standing on a base. This very large and impressive figure was probably made as an advertising device for a dairy. The figure is very well modelled and decorated and finished with a good pearlware glaze. The figure is probably the work of the North East Potters but may possibly emanate from the Staffordshire area. Antique English figures from the early part of the 19th century are very rare and this is a wonderful survivor in stunning condition. The pottery figure is in very clean order and in remarkable original condition. The figure is 11.5inches high and 18 inches long from nose to tail.The base is 14 inches long by 6.5 inches wide.
