The delftware plate was made in the mid-18th century. It is decorated with powdered manganese ground with nine reserved panels of flowers and insects in blue and white the center depicts flowers and bamboo within a petal-shaped reserved panel. During the excavation of shards, Garner was able to attribute the plate to the William Griffith Delftworks located in Lambeth High Street, London. The plate retains the label of Jonatha Horne, the renowned London Pottery dealer.
