This large significant pottery figure of a cow standing on a base was probably made as an advertising device, possibly a dairy. The figure is decorated with enamel colors and has a pearlware glaze. A hollow formed as a tree trunk could hold dry flowers or twigs in a display or possibly an advertising message at the back. This remarkable figure is exceptionally rare and made in Staffordshire in the early 19th century.
Dimensions: 11 inches high, 6.5 inches wide, 18 inches long
Current Condition: Professionally restored by a conservator for the Royal family at the horns, tip of the ear, and at the tail
