Description
The jug is large scale with striking sprig molded images of Queen Victoria, her mother the Duchess of Kent, an impressively modeled swan and national emblems of the United Kingdom, the rose, the thistle, and shamrock. The jug is salt-glazed brown stoneware and was made to commemorate the coronation of Victoria in 1837. The tin lid is an added element, probably tinker made and provides added interest and decoration to this handsome piece.
