Large English slipware loaf dish with outstanding trailing decoration 18th century

The large baking or loaf earthenware dish is expressively decorated with elaborate cream-colored slip on a dark brown ground, the rim with a pie crust edge. There is a loss to the brown lead glaze around the rim, and the entire back of the dish has been resurfaced to ensure the dish is stabilized from ancient damage. An exceptional piece and expertly and sympathetically conserved.

Dimensions: 15.5 inches high 18 inches long

Current Condition: The back resurfaced, and loss of glaze around the rim.
