This exceptionally modeled pearlware glazed pottery tea canister depicts a half profile of King George III in relief. The image was inspired by the artist William Hackwood. The impressive large-scale canister is also painted blue with satyr masks and a mass of flower heads and leaves—a fine-quality piece with good attention to detail. The cover is a period metal replacement.
