A good-sized pottery figure of a recumbent ewe is decorated with sponged brown underglaze markings on a green hollow base. An expressively pleasing and mellow figure made in the last quarter of the 18th century in Yorkshire or Staffordshire.

Dimensions: 5.5 inches high 7 inches long

Current Condition: The ancient hairline at the base does not warrant attention as it is barely visible and does not detract from the cosmetic appeal of the piece.
