An exceptionally rare and decorative creamware bodied melon tureen and cover with a green lead glaze . The press molded relief detail of the melon with leaves and vines is of the highest quality. The piece is probably the work of Thomas Whieldon or Josiah Wedgwood, Staffordshire.
