The baluster form delftware pottery vase is decorated in blue on a white ground. The painting is very high quality with a delicate, sensitive rendition of the birds, butterflies, and flowers — the design inspired by Chinese decorated porcelain from the Ming dynasty. Similar painted pieces referenced in Lipski-Michael Archer Dated English Delftware, items ref.899 .903,907, 908. Also, a similar example formed part of the famous Longridge Collection acquired from Jonathan Horne in his Exhibition 1999.

Current Condition: Minor glaze hairline at the rim of the base .Unrestored.
