A rare Liverpool delftware manganese tile decorated with an elaborate, engaging border with winged cherubs. The central panel depicts a river scene with figures standing on a bridge, a boat house backed by trees, and two swans gliding on the water to complete the idyllic scene. Anthony Ray notes in his book English Delft Tiles noted, " The complexity of the border must have involved the decorator in a good deal of work".
