A good English delftware pottery bulbous formed wet drug jar with a spreading foot, a spout, and a strap-like looped handle. The pot is decorated in blue and white in the Songbirds pattern with an elaborate cartouch presenting the inscription in capitals S.VIOLA ARUM. The "Song Birds" pattern shows a cartouche surrounded by two birds perched in leaves, a basket under the spout, and a winged angel head over fruit baskets with hanging tassels.

Diameter: 6 inches

Current Condition: A well-restored and stabilized hairline at the body is otherwise in very good condition.

Provenance: Retains label of Gary Atkins the English Pottery dealer. Private Collection London.
