An English delftware pottery Royalist mug is painted in black, blue, and manganese. It has a decorative scrolling cartouche of flowers around the initials GR. The neck of the mug is decorated with six concentric bands. This rare and imposing piece was made in London when the British Delft works competed with the burgeoning production and popularity of the Staffordshire Potteries.
