This English delftware pottery deep-sided plate is painted in blue with the primitive representation of William III and Mary II. Above the half-length portrait are the initials C M I and W M R below them, 1694. This rare plate was made between Mary's accession to the British throne in 1689 and her death in 1694.

Diameter: 8.5 inches

Current Condition: Good condition, no restoration, some fritting to glaze at the rim

Provenance: With Alistair Sampson the London Dealer and then from a private English collection.
