An English delftware pottery plate, the cavetto decorated in blue with a lake scene, in the background, a group of buildings and a conical-shaped tree. The border is bianco-sopra-bianco with flowers and leaves. The soft pale blue ground is sublime on this very beautiful plate from the Bristol Pottery of Richard Franks in the mid-18th century

Diameter: 9 inches

Current Condition: Fine condition with only minor fritting to glaze at the rim.

Provenance: Retains the paper label of Christies Auction February 1980
