English dated 1752 delftware pottery puzzle jug in blue and manganese

Dated: 1752 London or Liverpool

A good and very rare dated delftware pottery puzzle jug. The jug has a drinking rhyme in manganese " Here Gentlemen.etc.etc" The jug is also has two chinoserie inspired vase and flower painted panels in blue on each side of the handle. This jug with good provenance is illustrated in Lipski and Archer page 233 " Dated English Delftware" (figure reference 1028).

Dimensions: 7.4 inches high

Current Condition: Unrestored with fine hairline.

Provenance: Dr.C.H.G Price. Sotheby's London Joseph Vizcarra Sotheby's New York With Jonathan Horne. Longridge Collection. and Collector in London.
