A good English early 18th century slipware earthenware mug with a loop handle. The mug is covered with a cream coloured slip with a brown glaze at the rim. The piece is very tactile and fits in the hand perfectly providing an earthy link to the past.

Current Condition: Unrestored.

Provenance: Charles Baldwin Collection USA (1915) and then with the Metropolitan Museum New York USA.
