Description
Antique English Staffordshire creamware pottery tea caddy with green glaze.
This exceptionally large caddy is relief moulded in depth with an image featured on both side of “Flora”.
This tea caddy is a very early example with interesting decoration which is often found on Thomas Whieldon’s wares. The large scale of the piece is unusual, tea was an expensive luxury in the 18th century and most caddies produced in this period were significantly smaller.
