A extremely rare and large sized tea caddy in scratch blue decorated saltglaze pottery. The tea caddy was potted at the Bovey Tracey Pottery which is located in South Devon England. The tea caddy is dated Nov.8th 1769 with the name Richard Brimblecombe and decorated with typical scratch blue flowers and foliage. A very rare survivor from the mid 18th century. The large size of the caddy is quite unusual as tea in the mid 18th century was a very expensive luxury and most caddies produced at the time, especially in pottery were much smaller in scale.

Dimensions: 5.5 inches high

Current Condition: Some good professional restoration to hairline and chips at rim
